The wine has a light yellow-straw colour. There is fresh hay and honey on the nose, hints of pear; good intensity and persistence. The 'honey' disappears on the palate, giving way to ripe fruit cut by a fine line of acidity which maintains freshness and liveliness in the mouth. There is a marked salty-biscuit minerality about it reflecting the volcanic origins of the terrain. Fruit is predominantly pear and apple, just a hint of the sub-tropical, and there is an impressive balance so that there is nothing of the overripe nor of the excessively tight about the wine. The finish is clean and medium long.
