Rive Droite Rive Gauche simply means right bank, left bank and the name derives from fruit for the wine being sourced from both sides of the river. It is also a French film starring the rotund wine-nut actor Gerard Depardieu. In 2016 this little beauty has backed up its stellar efforts from the lauded 2015 vintage. It's all about pure up-front fruit flavours that present as ripe cherry and bright raspberry with lifted sweet spice and full of crunchy and vibrant fruits that flow accross the palate. Sweet and savoury at the same time with a lick of garrigue on the finish. This is just pure deliciousness!
"Wonderfully fruited and instantly appealing, the bouquet shows spiced plum, blueberry compote, violet, cocoa and subtle spice notes, leading to a succulent palate that is plump and fleshy. The wine is modern and expressive with loads of ripe fruit flavours, finishing long and satisfying."
